Game Code is an app on which children and teenagers can code, enabling them to develop a more responsible and critical attitude towards video games. It teaches them key programming skills by making them create their own video game, either step-by-step in the initiation version or freely in the sandbox version.
The app allows them to manipulate code blocks, modify or write code lines in JavaScript, in order to set up their universe and rules, programme the setting of their characters, their behaviours, and so on. Specific media education animations are integrated in the creation process, raising awareness of issues such as violence, addiction, and so on.
